25 Random Things About Printers...

Let's get to know each other better!

1 – Hotcards was started by a concert promoter, and maybe that's why we do so much printing for musicians, music venues, and publications.

2 – Hotcards doesn't just do print and design, we also specialize in web development and hosting.

3 – On Fridays, Columbus (the boss!) buys lunch for everyone in the office.

4 – There are some seriously hardcore Cleveland Cavs fans around here.

5 – We regularly sponsor sports teams and tournaments.

6 – Sometimes, Columbus lets us do some design work and printing for our favorite local businesses – just for fun.

7 – We're a union printer, which you probably already knew, but I bet you didn't know that union printers do it better.

8 – We are on Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, and Twitter. Friend us, because we love you, and we like to keep tabs on you.

9 – We have a popcorn machine in our lobby.

10 – We have a ping-pong table in our design studio.

11 – We loved purple waaaaaaaaay before it became the color trend of the season.

12 – Our delivery truck is designed so that it looks like printing is spilling out of the back of the truck. Look out!

13 – We run an Original Heidelberg Cylinder die-cutting press, because it's important to recognize the enduring power of a classic.

14 – Many of us are obsessed with shoes, although for some, it's high heels, while others are of the sneakerhead variety.

15 – During the election, we printed for the Obama campaign.

16 – We are one of the only political union printers left in Ohio.

17 – We work with 100% American suppliers, not just to support the economy, but because local shipping is good for the environment.

18 – Columbus is an avid cyclist, and he would LOVE to do more printing and design for the cycling community.

19 – If you Google us, you'll find that we are forced to share page 1 with a news story about Paris Hilton suing Hallmark over a “That's hot” card. Sigh.

20 – Our blog is one of the best sources for printing news on the web, but not many people know that.

21 – Our blogger has a mild inferiority complex.

22 – We've got a dozen offices nationwide, but all our printing is done right here in Cleveland.

23 – There are several Hotcards facebook groups and sites run independent of the main branch, so there's probably more Hotcards to explore than you think.

24 – A lot of cool stuff is happening around here that I can't tell you about, but you'll find out soon…

25 – We love seeing print design in unexpected places, which is why pasties are so cool.
