Hi Paul, we have an HP Indigo WS4500 Roll Fed Press. We also have several Flexographic Roll Fed presses. Our website www.goldcoastgraphicsinc.com shows a picture of our HP. I actually had a need for a larger format digital sheet fed job and was desperately looking for someone with an iGen or a NexPress a few days ago. I ended up finding a local company who just installed the Kodak and they are taking care of it for me. In the future, would you be open to taking a look at those types of jobs for us? I would love to have more than one option.
Another question. The same customer of ours has a facility in Tipton, Missouri and has asked us to help them source other packaging items for that plant such as corrugated boxes and injection molded polystyrene foam. By chance do you know any good manufacturers of those items in your area that you could turn me on to? I know you are not necessarily close to central Missouri but you are closer than I am. Just a shot in the dark.
I knew your name sounded familiar. I used to work with Frank McMullan when I was at Standard Register for a number of years. Frank and I stay in touch. I am always looking for Form Store opportunities at Performance Press.
Great minds think alike! Our company also sees the value of REC's per customer request. I just got the owners approval for 10% mixed sources REC's. We are also looking at which area's we can cut back to increase that percentage. I hope to have our claim up and running at the time of the next meter read. We have a very small company and want to ensure that we can continue to move forward. I have seen how discouraging it is to everyone when a company moves quickly beyond it's means and even more so when company's are closing because of it(esp. here in Maine).
Thanks for asking,
Our IGen is good. Some issues with the upgraded Docusp software version 3.0. Very buggy. We do have cracking issues when folding, found some workarounds and found coatings for prints of the IGen are expensive. For most jobs we do the IGen is fast and pretty reliable when maintained. We use Adobe CS3 and another designer uses Quark with DesignMerge for some projects needing variable data. I use FusionPro for variable data jobs. We also have a Indigo, great for vinyl and a Karat 64 inline plate press, amazing quality from the Karat.
