Has everyone heard that HP has released an online digital storefront called Market Splash? I find it amazing that we can not trust our vendors to not become our competitors. Like this business isn't difficult enough.

Check out their store at: www.marketsplash.com

Wow... I am surprised they would do something like this. At first I thought it was a business development tool they had for customers, but it doesn't appear that is the case when you look through the whole site.

Xerox used to have their own print facilities years ago, but they no longer exist since we saw it was competing with customers.

I have a yahoo group that I also belong too (iGen, Nexpress, Indigo & Di owners) and this is the huge topic of conversation. The jobs seem to go straight to Staples as a general rule of thumb but not sure they have all the data yet for workflow. Either way it is amazing that they would want to compete with us. They are even offering free business cards!

Thanks Erica, I did not realize what Market Splash was. These jobs are printed at Staples? Does anyone know how long Market Splash has been around? Also, can you tell me what the other group is that you mention in Yahoo? I'd be interested in joining.

Lindsay,
You are in no way old enough to know about those print centers Xerox had.

Paul,

Were you at the last Graph Expo? Kodak was showing samples of the Dimensional Raised Printing and the image was a coin. There was a company at the show that would then gold foil the coin image. It looked fantastic.

how can I see both sides of these messages...the whole string?

hahaha, you are right Brian! I've been told about them because when I first started here (almost 3 years ago) I was wondering why we don't do any of our own printing of brochures since we have all of our equipment at the Gil Hatch Center. That's when I heard the story about the good ol' print centers...

In case you are interested, the following is a link to the Print CEO Blog (owned by WhatTheyThink.com) with the CEO of Allegra Networks talking about MarketSplash... there are a couple other articles on this blog written about it as well.

This week FormStore has installed Kodak Dimensional Dry Ink technology to our Kodak NexPress. Similar to digital thermography.

Has anyone seen or tried it?

Iranians are no longer allowed to catch Mega Pikachus after authorities

If you're a returning player...it depends. Do you have lots of nostalgia for Red and Blue? X & Y is the way to go. While the mega pokemon game takes place in Pokemon's version of Paris, and while it might feature tons of new Pokemon, many of the beats and throwbacks in the Pokemon game are for people who hold the original 151 near and dear. Iranians are no longer allowed to catch Pikachus after authorities decided to ban the…See More

Epic adventure exploring a world filled with Pokemon in Pokemon Mega

The Pokemon mega has quickly become a part of leaving the house. Playing the Pokemon PC game is relatively easy, although capturing the Pokemon takes a little practise and we took a while with Instantfuns before realising how to get our Pokeballs and other treats. Only time will tell how long the novelty will last but at the minute it’s a great way to waste a little time and get some fresh air. DanPrepare for an epic adventure…See More
